dallas_wedding_planner_0259Lauren Schmidt – Owner/Principal Planner :: Having lived in several states around the U.S. while growing up, Lauren likes to think she got to Texas as fast as she could. She has been planning extraordinary events for over 11 years. Prior to starting her company in 2009, she worked for The Dallas Petroleum Club planning everything from small business meetings to elaborate weddings. Previous to that, Lauren managed the fine dining and casual dining staff at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Upon starting her company, she became actively involved with NACE (National Association of Catering and Events) and has served on the Board of Directors for several years. She won the DFW NACE Event Professional of the Year for 2010 and the NACE National Fundraising Event of the Year for 2011. In the spring of 2015, she acquired Freesia, a floral design company that has been a well-known name throughout Dallas-Fort Worth since 2006. Thus allowing her and her team to provide more value to her clients. Lauren has also received WeddingWire’s Brides Choice Award for 2009-2018 for their excellence in planning. Her work has been seen in D Weddings, several blogs such as Wedding Chicks, the Fort Worth Star Telegram as well as Wedding Magazine UK. Her most prized accomplishment are her sons, Landon and Hudson. Her roles of being a mother, wife and dual business owner drive her to be organized and diligent in everything she does. “At the end of the day, our reputation is what precedes us. We have to take care of our clients and do the best possible job we can for them,” Lauren remarks. Building lasting relationships with her clients and exceeding their expectations in both planning their event and creating their perfect floral designs is a huge focus for Lauren and her team. “We just love bringing their dreams to reality,” says Lauren. “To watch them having the time of their lives with their friends and family in a space created just for them, is priceless.” When not creating gorgeous events for her clients, Lauren loves spending time with her husband and boys, who keeps them moving and shaking as well as the rest of their wonderful, crazy family. She also enjoys cooking her family’s Italian recipes and watching a good movie curled up next to her hubs.


dallas_wedding_planner_0254Kelly Butler – Associate Planner :: Born and raised in Rowlett, TX, Miss. Kelly, as we like to call her, has the sweetest southern charm to match her southern twang. But don’t let that southern charm fool you as she knows how to get things done when planning and executing weddings.  Wedding and event planning has been Kelly’s passion since she can remember. She has always had the idea of wedding planning as a career, but used to be believe it was an unrealistic aspiration like saying, “I want to be a princess when I grow up.” But while getting her Hospitality Management Degree at North Texas, she was fortunate to have realized that not only was this career possible, it was the only career that would suit her. She has been in the hospitality industry since she was 18. She loves all walks of life and considers herself a hostess with the mostess at heart. “A friend of mine introduced me to Lauren and I adored her immediately. I have been a part of the CTE team ever since and have been living the dream!” When Kelly is not busy working with her clients, you can find her hanging out with family and friends enjoying life’s special moments, or enjoying some Kelly time, crafting!




dallas_wedding_planner_0253Suzann McLemore – Associate Planner :: With Dallas being her longest running ‘home’, The Creative Touch Events has been honored to have Suzann on the team for over 6 years. Prior to coming on board with our team, she worked for another local planning firm. From assisting to coordinating events, Suzann’s experience is undeniable. She first got her start after planning her own wedding. She had so much fun with the process and learned so much that she wanted to share it with others. Suzann really loves the logistics of planning, putting together the timeline, and focusing on exactly how everything is going to unfold. As planners all do, she loves seeing the hard work come together. Her favorite moment of a wedding day is the last fluffing of the gown and opening of the doors as the bride walks down the aisle. “It takes my breath away every time.” Once you talk with Suzann a little bit more, you’ll also learn that she really loves wedding cake and freely admits “I do it for the cake.” During her free time, Suzann runs in half marathons.  She has run in over 50 of them and loves to travel to destination locations to participate in them.  Her favorite marathons have been the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco and Lululemon’s Seawheeze in Vancouver. “I also have a weakness for designer shoes and handbags.” When at home, Suzann loves to snuggle with her kitties Jag, Leo, and Echo.



Ashley Nordahl – Associate Event Planner :: Ashley is a recent graduate from Ole Miss Hospitality School with a focus in Event Management and is the newest member to our team! She worked in the events industry all through college and found an incredible passion for it. She loves how something can go from words on a piece of paper and an idea in your head to an incredible event brought to life. Along with planning weddings, she handles the marketing and social media for CTE. With new trends occurring every day, her adventurous and explorative nature is perfect for keeping our brides trendy!

During her free time, she likes to adventure around Dallas, go shopping with her mom, attend concerts and explore new ideas on Pinterest.  She’s also an avid lover of all things holiday, especially Halloween.




dallas_wedding_planner_0257Angie Wright – Office Manager/Client Relations :: A true Texas girl from Dallas, Angie has always had a interest in planning. It first started in high school where she took culinary classes, learning new recipes and cooking for others. After graduation, she worked for a catering company out of Waco, TX. Watching things happen from the back of the house and seeing how all the moving pieces of an event came together caught her eye! Since then she was on a journey to learn more. Angie has always been interested in details and having a game plan, “I guess you could say I like organized chaos.” Her family even calls her “The Family Secretary” as she’s always in charge of their family functions. With The Creative Touch Events, Angie is an invaluable team member taking care of their client and vendor relations, social media and blogs, among a multitude of other things. She is Lauren’s right hand girl and plays a huge role keeping it all organized. She is service oriented at heart and CTE clients just love her sincere and helpful personality. “I personally love seeing the smiling faces of our clients when they see the finished product of their dream brought to life.”

Outside of work, Angie loves trying new cooking recipes, playing with her dogs, Marrie Jane and Scarlet, and spending time with her loved ones.
