Classic Southern Wedding at University Hall at Oak Lawn Park

Lexi and Andy both share pride in their alma mater, The University of Alabama, which they both attended when they met. Their paths first crossed as interns in Washington D.C. They stayed friends all summer long, and starting dating back in Alabama that fall. Six years later, Andy proposed on the steps at the Lincoln Memorial, back in the special city where they first met.

When it came time to start planning their wedding, Lexi and Andy knew they wanted a joyful event, with timeless southern touches. Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn Park was the perfect venue for their ceremony and reception.

BBJ Linen provided beautiful linens to tie in the elegant tablescapes. Freesia, our sister company, helped to bring the timeless southern look to life with florals in shades of ivory and green, as well as perfectly seasonal cherry blossoms.

Uptown Violins played classic arrangements for the couple’s outdoor ceremony, and The Motion Band with Absolute Entertainment kept the party going all night long with music and lighting. Stephanie Brazzle Photography, along with Soulbox Productions Videography, captured every moment for Lexi and Andy and their families to cherish for a lifetime. Lexi and her bridal party got ready with TC Makeup doing hair and makeup.

The stunning wedding cake from Frosted Art stood out, alongside a festive groom’s cake honoring The University of Alabama! Catering and impeccable service was provided by Food Glorious Food.

The couple had an Alabama-inspired send-off, and departed in a vintage car from DFW Vintage Cars.

Wishing every happiness to Lexi and Andy in their future together! Roll Tide!

Farm-to-Table Shower at The Bachelor Farmer, Minneapolis, MN

Paige and Tom love cooking and eating together, so when it came time to plan their wedding shower, a Farm-to-Table theme fit them perfectly. The Creative Touch Events loves to travel, so we jumped at the chance work with them on putting together the perfect party to celebrate with their family and friends in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Bachelor Farmer is a beautiful spot with an emphasis on local, organic products. They created a custom menu to tie in seasonal produce with some of Paige and Tom’s favorites, like vegetable fritters and braised meatballs, along with delicious brownies and cream puffs. They even made sure Paige’s favorite drink, a Moscow Mule, was on tap for all of their guests.

Once speeches were finished, we opened the doors to reveal the buffet room. It was a great surprise for all the guests, and for Paige and Tom!

With the beautiful cafe as the backdrop, Spruce Flowers went above and beyond to decorate the room with an impressive display of fresh fruits and vegetables mixed with seasonal blooms in a rainbow of colors, like coral charm peonies and stunning giant allium. BBJ Linen added a special touch to the display with rich navy linens. Jourdin Hendrix Calligraphy provided the beautiful, custom hand-lettered phrases for the welcome table, bar, and buffet.

The evening was photographed by Christina Olson of Electric Lime. Christina says her favorite thing about photography is “capturing the connection and joy between people”, and she certainly captured the joy of Paige and Tom with their loved ones, celebrating their relationship together.

Congratulations to Paige and Tom, and we wish them the best in their future together.

Enchanted Forest Wedding at The Adolphus

Lissy and Leon started dating when she moved back to Dallas after grad school, but they really met years before that. “We actually first met when we carpooled together for a year in elementary school.” Lissy says, “But neither of us remembers!”

Lissy studies Italian history, so when Leon surprised her with an Italian-themed date complete with a gondola ride, she was all in! Little did she know, Leon had set up the perfect proposal. Afterward, Leon arranged to meet with both of their families for an Italian dinner to celebrate.

When it was time to start planning their wedding, Lissy and Leon were inspired by the old world charm of the Adolphus Hotel, and knew they wanted to make the beautifully-painted ballroom into their own “secret garden.” Lissy loves flowers, and Freesia helped her transform the room with vibrant colors and textures in shades of pink and coral, turning the space into their enchanted forest dream.

Stamped Paper Co created the couple’s custom invitations, menus, and programs that set the tone for the evening. Lissy looked beautiful in a Reem Acra gown from Warren Barron, and hair and makeup with her and all her girls by Anastasia Stratton.

Seeing Leon during the Bedecken ceremony was one of Lissy’s favorite moments of the day. “I was so excited to see him and felt like my heart was going to burst.” They walked down the aisle with Gyros String Quartet playing in the background. As part of Jewish wedding tradition Lissy circled Leon seven times. That was the moment that made it all feel real. “Afterwards, Leon and I stepped under our beautiful chuppah. We were surrounded by our parents and siblings who have always loved and supported us, and we both felt so incredibly lucky and excited.”

The reception was romantically lit with taper candles by Eleven Embers, and enchanted lighting by Beyond. Chairs and the stage facade were provided by Bella Acento, and linens by BBJ. Thanks to Jordan Kahn Orchestra, the night went perfectly, “I loved getting to dance with Leon and all our friends and family- you could feel the joy and love in the room all night and it was the most magical feeling.” Every moment was captured by photographer Shannon Skloss, and videographers of Soulbox.

To complement the romantic and warm elements of Lissy and Leon’s wedding, Frosted Art created a stunning cake with touches of gold and rose gold, along with intricate floral details that came from their wedding invitations. Italian gelato was also provided from Paciugo.

We asked Lissy if she had any advice for other brides, and she shared some golden advice from her sister-in-law. “She told us to be in the moment and try to stick together as much as possible, so that when you look back on the wedding, you share the same experiences and memories of the night.” This is so true! The Creative Touch Events team could not have been more honored to be part of such a sweet and beautiful couple’s new journey together.

Shalom and Mazel tov to Lissy and Leon for a lifetime of happiness!

Rustic Elegant Wedding at The Venue at Waterstone

Amy met Ian on Match.com, after some friends encouraged her to sign up. They were both convinced it was a waste of time, until they found each other in January 2016. They were married two years later!

When Ian proposed, he took Amy to her best friend’s painting studio. Behind her blank canvas was a hand-painted sign that said “Will You Marry Me?” Amy said that even though she had a hunch he was going to propose, it was so special to her, especially to have her best friend there for such an important occasion.

Then the two were ready to start planning their dream wedding! Amy knew she wanted a rustic theme that would combine her love of horses and the outdoors with Ian’s work as a police officer. After meeting with vendors and finding her perfect Madison James dress, the theme evolved into “Rustic Elegance.” The Venue at Waterstone was the perfect location.

The color navy blue was a main theme throughout the wedding, complemented by stunning floral from Freesia in shades of purple, green, and blush. Sable and Gray created the perfect invitations to set the tone for the evening.

One of Amy’s favorite parts of the day was getting ready with her best friends, and the amazing hair and makeup artist, Anita Brown, from Elan Makeup. Amy loved having her two oldest friends as bridesmaids, and their daughters as flower girls.

Brown-Eyed Girls Acapella Quartet provided beautiful prelude music for the ceremony. Le Force Entertainment kept the party going with Amy and Ian’s favorite songs for the reception, as well as lighting to pinpoint their tables and accent the room.  Valentina Vladi Photography captured the night perfectly.

Tastefully Yours catered the dinner, and Amy and Ian had a beautiful cake from Delicious Cakes. Instead of a groom’s cake, they had a donut bar! (We love this idea!)

Family is important to Amy and Ian, so having her Uncle Bob perform the wedding ceremony was meaningful to both of them. Another priceless family moment Amy recalled was her brother’s toast: “My brother’s toast made my day…maybe even my year…Everyone in the room that has been a part of my life since I was a child remembered the stories he told and was laughing hysterically.”

In reflecting on her wedding, Amy has some advice for future brides: “Everything will work out and it will be fine, don’t stress. It’s just one day!” After all, she said, “The best part of being married is being able to start a life with someone I love.” We wish Amy and Ian all the best in their life together!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Maroon and Gold Wedding at Ashton Gardens Dallas

After locking eyes at a college function for an on campus organization at Texas A & M where both Ashlynn & Colton attended; they decided to officially meet a few months later. The two began dating and fell in love!

dallas_wedding_planner_0196 dallas_wedding_planner_0197

Finally on April 18, 2015 under the Famous Century Tree at Texas A & M Colton asked Ashlynn to be his wife! The proposal was everything she ever imagined.

dallas_wedding_planner_0198

Keeping the proposal a surprise was a challenge. Colton had to throw Ashlynn off of his trail of planning her dream proposal by telling her that her vision was cliché! All the while Colton was putting together plans for family and friends to be present as well as a photographer to capture such a special moment.

dallas_wedding_planner_0199

From there on these lovebirds were planning maroon & gold wedding! Adding a few blush tones helped to add a little contrast to their color pallet. Ashlynn loves glitter & gold as any girl would. And maroon is a favorite for both Ashlynn & Colton as it is part of their alma mater’s colors! They wanted the feel of their wedding to be romantic, full of light, and sparkle.

dallas_wedding_planner_0200 dallas_wedding_planner_0203

Ashlynn & Colton’s wedding invitations were recreated from a look Ashlynn had seen on Pinterest. Her vision was brought to life by Vista Print & Ann’s Bridal Bargains.

dallas_wedding_planner_0201

Ashlynn’s bridesmaids looked stunning in their beautiful gold sequin and maroon gowns from Etsy Shop, Fashion Streets as they walked down the aisle to the beautiful music played by Gyros String Quartet. Ashlynn followed soon after in her stunning gown by Pronovias from Marry Go Round Bridal of Houston.

 dallas_wedding_planner_0202dallas_wedding_planner_0210

The sweet couple exchanged vows in the chapel at Ashton Gardens-Dallas which created the perfect setting; the large windows in this space really helped reflect the light. The two were framed by a custom twinkling curly willow arch made by our sister company Freesia; who were also in charge of all of the floral and candles that extended the feeling of romance for these two on their wedding day. Ashlynn even gave us kudos, “Lauren did the most amazing job bringing our vision of sparkly and romantic to life.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0208 dallas_wedding_planner_0205

dallas_wedding_planner_0206

Thompson Pictures was there to videograph the couple as they exchanged their sweet vows of love that they wrote to each other. Ashlynn informs us this moment was her favorite of the entire evening. “I think they reflected our personalities perfectly and showed the kind of love we have for each other. I still tear up watching the video of them!” she tells us.

dallas_wedding_planner_0209 dallas_wedding_planner_0207

We absolutely loved the details of this wedding and are so happy Shannon Skloss Photography was there to capture the details and this gorgeous day all together.

dallas_wedding_planner_0211dallas_wedding_planner_0214

The reception couldn’t have been complete without the awesome tunes & lighting from Simply Music and cake from Delicious Cakes.

dallas_wedding_planner_0213

These two agree that their wedding wouldn’t have been anything they imagined if it wasn’t for their family, friends, and all of their loved ones. Seeing all of the people they loved gathered together to celebrate their love was simply amazing. Ashlynn’s brother married them, and her grandfather led them in communion. Colton’s family hadn’t seen each other in years, and they flew from all over to be with them.

dallas_wedding_planner_0212

“Seeing both of our families and everyone we love all in one place was incredibly humbling and emotional. That happens so rarely, and we were both so thankful to have all of that support“, says Ashlynn.

dallas_wedding_planner_0215

Since coming together as husband and wife and settling into their jobs; Colton a Human Resource Specialist & Ashlynn an ABA Program Manager & Behavior Therapist; their favorite part about being married is the commitment they made to each other and always being with their best friend!

dallas_wedding_planner_0216

While the couple admits they wouldn’t change much about their wedding day; Ashlynn does inform us that, “Throughout the planning process, I wish I would have not worried so much about pleasing everyone. Weddings are so full of traditions and expectation, and it’s really impossible to make everyone happy. Decide what you and your partner’s dreams are about your day and do your best.”

What great advice, Ashlynn! We hope you & Colton are doing your best being so happy together.

Garden Wedding at The Nasher Sculpture Center

Michael and Murphy met in the summer of 2005 while training for a triathlon and began dating shortly after. The two however split ways after three years of dating as Murphy moved to France and Michael started his MBA at Indiana University.

dallas_wedding_planner_0349

I guess you can say distance truly makes the heart grow fonder! Murphy goes on to say, “Three years after splitting, we both ended up in the Midwest and reconnected over tacos in Chicago. That was four years ago and the rest is history.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0350

Michael planned to propose to Murphy at their favorite park but, Murphy derailed the plan as she wouldn’t stop talking about a movie she had just seen. Michael finally got Murphy to stop talking and took to bending knee right in front of a neighborhood bar before they were about to enter for drinks.

dallas_wedding_planner_0351dallas_wedding_planner_0352

From there the two planned a simple yet beautiful wedding. With invitations created by Needle in a Haystack; the couple invited guests’ to join them and witness their love at the stunning Nasher Sculpture Center.

dallas_wedding_planner_0353dallas_wedding_planner_0354dallas_wedding_planner_0355

Murphy made her way down the aisle in very simple sleek dress sewn by Jamal at Richard Brooks Fabrics. Murphy’s dress was recreated from a dress designed and worn by Danielle Sherman, Creative Director of Edun, which Murphy saw in an issue of Vogue Magazine. The team at Michael Flores Salon helped her achieve her look of effortless beauty.

dallas_wedding_planner_0368dallas_wedding_planner_0371

After a lovely ceremony guests’ moved to the cocktail reception and were greeted by local artists playing fun upbeat music as they mingled around the water feature of The Nasher garden. Guests’ went on to find their escort cards that hung on the boxwood hedge wall by Ducky Bob’s, who also provided the tables and chairs for the evening.

dallas_wedding_planner_0366 dallas_wedding_planner_0367

Everyone absolutely loved the foliage wall as it went so well with the garden. Their favorite part was the beautiful custom acrylic monogram by Artifacture.

dallas_wedding_planner_0365

The reception was absolutely gorgeous with sleek linens by BBJ Linen. The organic floral arrangements by Garden Gate Floral, who also did the ceremony floral pieces, looked stunning against the white linens and natural elements of the gardens.

dallas_wedding_planner_0363

The couple kept their décor very simple and focused on elements that would enhance their guests’ experience and not take away from The Nasher’s beauty. “Ultimately, we wanted our décor choices to suggest that our wedding was a special event but also to put people at ease” says Murphy.

dallas_wedding_planner_0361 dallas_wedding_planner_0362

Wolfgang Puck catered an amazing family style dinner creating the opportunity for their loved ones to interact and get to know one another. Murphy shares with us, “My favorite moment was hearing the chatter of loved ones getting to know each other and friends have a good time as we ate dinner. Almost all of our guests came from out of town so we really wanted to the focus of the wedding to be on showing them a good time. I was so happy to watch everyone enjoy themselves.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0360

What’s a great dinner without great cake? Sugar Bee Sweets created “naked cakes” for both the bride and groom. These cakes were as tasty as they were beautiful!

dallas_wedding_planner_0359dallas_wedding_planner_0372

The night took off into full swing with tons of dancing to some great tunes being spun by DJ Mike with LeForce Entertainment. And we are so happy that Ben & Chrys of Ben Q Photography were there to capture all of these special moments.

dallas_wedding_planner_0364dallas_wedding_planner_0358

The two ended their night and were whisked away in style by a luxury car from Silverwest Limos. But, no special night would be complete without a pit-stop at Dallas’ world famous Fuel City for their first late night taco date as a married couple.

dallas_wedding_planner_0357dallas_wedding_planner_0356

Michael and Murphy’s wedding day was everything they could ever dream of. We are so grateful to have been a part of this special day.

Organic Wedding at The Dallas Arboretum

Love wins again! Jeff and Joe met a little over seven years ago via the web on Yahoo Personals. After five years of dating, Joe realized he had found the one whom his soul loves and was ready to propose.

dallas_wedding_planner_0229

dallas_wedding_planner_0230Joe was creative and planned a scavenger hunt to the different places the two like to frequent as a couple; which even included dinner at Dragonfly of Hotel ZaZa. The final clue led the two back to their home for the evening were Joe had champagne, cake, flowers, and the ring ready to ask for Jeff’s hand in marriage.

dallas_wedding_planner_0231

Of course Jeff said ‘Yes!’ and from there they took time to enjoy their engagement for a bit and then started planning their amazing wedding. Guests’ were invited with beautiful invitations by The American Wedding to join Jeff and Joe for their ceremony in the Lay Family Garden and reception in The Alexander Camp House at The Dallas Arboretum.

dallas_wedding_planner_0232

dallas_wedding_planner_0239

Jeff wore a handsome fitting suit from Suit Supply; while Joe complimented him in a Joseph Abboud suit from The Men’s Warehouse.

dallas_wedding_planner_0233

dallas_wedding_planner_0234

The two looked absolutely dapper as they exchanged vows framed by a beautifully bright arch created by our sister company Freesia; whom was also in charge of all of the other floral decor that complimented the garden and reception area.

dallas_wedding_planner_0235

dallas_wedding_planner_0236

These amazing details of floral added the color and texture of for the couple’s vision of bright, elegant, masculine, and organic along with the natural colored linens by BBJ Linen. They wanted their wedding day to be a complete representation of who they are by tying in their Hispanic cultures with fun textures of lotus pods, driftwood, succulents along with bright hues of reds, oranges, purples, greens and bronze-copper accents.

dallas_wedding_planner_0240

dallas_wedding_planner_0237

dallas_wedding_planner_0241

The couple tells us that a special moment of the wedding was, “Walking down the aisle hand-in-hand with Joe’s son symbolized the family we’ve become. Also, having so many people there who loved and supported us was beyond touching…”

dallas_wedding_planner_0242

dallas_wedding_planner_0243

dallas_wedding_planner_0244

The music never stopped from the ceremony where Simply Music played soft tunes, to the cocktail reception were festive music was being played by Ernestos Music-Mariachi Band, and to the reception where DJ Adante of Simply Music spun out some dancing tunes.

dallas_wedding_planner_0245

All-the-while enjoying all of the fun guests’ also enjoyed amazing food and cocktails by Gil’s Catering.

dallas_wedding_planner_0246

No wedding would be complete without cake! The couple chose a simple, yet amazing cake by Delicious Cakes! To keep with the organic and masculine feel of their wedding, the cake was displayed on a wood slate and adorned with succulents.

dallas_wedding_planner_0247

Jeff and Joe both agree that their favorite moment of their wedding was that there was no rain! “Since we planned an outdoor ceremony and reception, we were quite nervous about the rain in the forecast. There was not a single raindrop, so we were able to celebrate as we had planned all along.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0248

In preparation for the rain the couple had to make a split decision on implementing a tent. To keep the outdoor feel they chose a clear tent without sides by Ducky Bob’s. We are so glad that Shannon Skloss Photography was there to catch all the amazing details for lasting memories and great stories later on. Shannon even notes that the clear tent reflected a lot of light from the lights that were strung by Simply Music which made for amazing photos.

dallas_wedding_planner_0249

Jeff and Joe say there favorite part about being married so far is, “The security of knowing that we’ll have someone with whom to share our lives and grow old.”

When interviewing Amy for the blog, we wanted to know how it all started for her.  Here’s what she said: After a stroll down memory lane of some of Amy’s armature photography work from college; her husband, Jon, encouraged her to peruse her dreams of capturing beautiful images and lasting memories. And thus Amy Karp Photography was born.

dallas_wedding_planner_0186

We asked Amy to tell us about her proudest moment in her photography career so far. We couldn’t help but to be proud for her as she told us, “I was named photographer of the year two years in a row by AACWP (American Association of Certified Wedding Planners). That was a great honor to be recognized for my work and customer relations!”

dallas_wedding_planner_0191

When asked what advice she would give a bride to help choose her wedding photographer; Amy gave us a few pointers, “Try to picture yourself and your style in the photographer’s portfolio. Try to get a feel if your personalities mesh well together. And when meeting with your potential photographer, make sure they make you feel at ease. And also look for a photographer that has experience with natural and artificial light.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0189

We cannot get enough of Amy Karp, her work is both breathtaking and fun! When you meet Amy in person to talk about your wedding or next big event, you’ll be sure to fall in love with her bubbly personality. And make sure you tell her we sent you!!
