Rustic Elegant Wedding at The Venue at Waterstone

Amy met Ian on Match.com, after some friends encouraged her to sign up. They were both convinced it was a waste of time, until they found each other in January 2016. They were married two years later!

When Ian proposed, he took Amy to her best friend’s painting studio. Behind her blank canvas was a hand-painted sign that said “Will You Marry Me?” Amy said that even though she had a hunch he was going to propose, it was so special to her, especially to have her best friend there for such an important occasion.

Then the two were ready to start planning their dream wedding! Amy knew she wanted a rustic theme that would combine her love of horses and the outdoors with Ian’s work as a police officer. After meeting with vendors and finding her perfect Madison James dress, the theme evolved into “Rustic Elegance.” The Venue at Waterstone was the perfect location.

The color navy blue was a main theme throughout the wedding, complemented by stunning floral from Freesia in shades of purple, green, and blush. Sable and Gray created the perfect invitations to set the tone for the evening.

One of Amy’s favorite parts of the day was getting ready with her best friends, and the amazing hair and makeup artist, Anita Brown, from Elan Makeup. Amy loved having her two oldest friends as bridesmaids, and their daughters as flower girls.

Brown-Eyed Girls Acapella Quartet provided beautiful prelude music for the ceremony. Le Force Entertainment kept the party going with Amy and Ian’s favorite songs for the reception, as well as lighting to pinpoint their tables and accent the room.  Valentina Vladi Photography captured the night perfectly.

Tastefully Yours catered the dinner, and Amy and Ian had a beautiful cake from Delicious Cakes. Instead of a groom’s cake, they had a donut bar! (We love this idea!)

Family is important to Amy and Ian, so having her Uncle Bob perform the wedding ceremony was meaningful to both of them. Another priceless family moment Amy recalled was her brother’s toast: “My brother’s toast made my day…maybe even my year…Everyone in the room that has been a part of my life since I was a child remembered the stories he told and was laughing hysterically.”

In reflecting on her wedding, Amy has some advice for future brides: “Everything will work out and it will be fine, don’t stress. It’s just one day!” After all, she said, “The best part of being married is being able to start a life with someone I love.” We wish Amy and Ian all the best in their life together!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Maroon and Gold Wedding at Ashton Gardens Dallas

After locking eyes at a college function for an on campus organization at Texas A & M where both Ashlynn & Colton attended; they decided to officially meet a few months later. The two began dating and fell in love!

dallas_wedding_planner_0196 dallas_wedding_planner_0197

Finally on April 18, 2015 under the Famous Century Tree at Texas A & M Colton asked Ashlynn to be his wife! The proposal was everything she ever imagined.

dallas_wedding_planner_0198

Keeping the proposal a surprise was a challenge. Colton had to throw Ashlynn off of his trail of planning her dream proposal by telling her that her vision was cliché! All the while Colton was putting together plans for family and friends to be present as well as a photographer to capture such a special moment.

dallas_wedding_planner_0199

From there on these lovebirds were planning maroon & gold wedding! Adding a few blush tones helped to add a little contrast to their color pallet. Ashlynn loves glitter & gold as any girl would. And maroon is a favorite for both Ashlynn & Colton as it is part of their alma mater’s colors! They wanted the feel of their wedding to be romantic, full of light, and sparkle.

dallas_wedding_planner_0200 dallas_wedding_planner_0203

Ashlynn & Colton’s wedding invitations were recreated from a look Ashlynn had seen on Pinterest. Her vision was brought to life by Vista Print & Ann’s Bridal Bargains.

dallas_wedding_planner_0201

Ashlynn’s bridesmaids looked stunning in their beautiful gold sequin and maroon gowns from Etsy Shop, Fashion Streets as they walked down the aisle to the beautiful music played by Gyros String Quartet. Ashlynn followed soon after in her stunning gown by Pronovias from Marry Go Round Bridal of Houston.

 dallas_wedding_planner_0202dallas_wedding_planner_0210

The sweet couple exchanged vows in the chapel at Ashton Gardens-Dallas which created the perfect setting; the large windows in this space really helped reflect the light. The two were framed by a custom twinkling curly willow arch made by our sister company Freesia; who were also in charge of all of the floral and candles that extended the feeling of romance for these two on their wedding day. Ashlynn even gave us kudos, “Lauren did the most amazing job bringing our vision of sparkly and romantic to life.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0208 dallas_wedding_planner_0205

dallas_wedding_planner_0206

Thompson Pictures was there to videograph the couple as they exchanged their sweet vows of love that they wrote to each other. Ashlynn informs us this moment was her favorite of the entire evening. “I think they reflected our personalities perfectly and showed the kind of love we have for each other. I still tear up watching the video of them!” she tells us.

dallas_wedding_planner_0209 dallas_wedding_planner_0207

We absolutely loved the details of this wedding and are so happy Shannon Skloss Photography was there to capture the details and this gorgeous day all together.

dallas_wedding_planner_0211dallas_wedding_planner_0214

The reception couldn’t have been complete without the awesome tunes & lighting from Simply Music and cake from Delicious Cakes.

dallas_wedding_planner_0213

These two agree that their wedding wouldn’t have been anything they imagined if it wasn’t for their family, friends, and all of their loved ones. Seeing all of the people they loved gathered together to celebrate their love was simply amazing. Ashlynn’s brother married them, and her grandfather led them in communion. Colton’s family hadn’t seen each other in years, and they flew from all over to be with them.

dallas_wedding_planner_0212

“Seeing both of our families and everyone we love all in one place was incredibly humbling and emotional. That happens so rarely, and we were both so thankful to have all of that support“, says Ashlynn.

dallas_wedding_planner_0215

Since coming together as husband and wife and settling into their jobs; Colton a Human Resource Specialist & Ashlynn an ABA Program Manager & Behavior Therapist; their favorite part about being married is the commitment they made to each other and always being with their best friend!

dallas_wedding_planner_0216

While the couple admits they wouldn’t change much about their wedding day; Ashlynn does inform us that, “Throughout the planning process, I wish I would have not worried so much about pleasing everyone. Weddings are so full of traditions and expectation, and it’s really impossible to make everyone happy. Decide what you and your partner’s dreams are about your day and do your best.”

What great advice, Ashlynn! We hope you & Colton are doing your best being so happy together.

Organic Wedding at The Dallas Arboretum

Love wins again! Jeff and Joe met a little over seven years ago via the web on Yahoo Personals. After five years of dating, Joe realized he had found the one whom his soul loves and was ready to propose.

dallas_wedding_planner_0229

dallas_wedding_planner_0230Joe was creative and planned a scavenger hunt to the different places the two like to frequent as a couple; which even included dinner at Dragonfly of Hotel ZaZa. The final clue led the two back to their home for the evening were Joe had champagne, cake, flowers, and the ring ready to ask for Jeff’s hand in marriage.

dallas_wedding_planner_0231

Of course Jeff said ‘Yes!’ and from there they took time to enjoy their engagement for a bit and then started planning their amazing wedding. Guests’ were invited with beautiful invitations by The American Wedding to join Jeff and Joe for their ceremony in the Lay Family Garden and reception in The Alexander Camp House at The Dallas Arboretum.

dallas_wedding_planner_0232

dallas_wedding_planner_0239

Jeff wore a handsome fitting suit from Suit Supply; while Joe complimented him in a Joseph Abboud suit from The Men’s Warehouse.

dallas_wedding_planner_0233

dallas_wedding_planner_0234

The two looked absolutely dapper as they exchanged vows framed by a beautifully bright arch created by our sister company Freesia; whom was also in charge of all of the other floral decor that complimented the garden and reception area.

dallas_wedding_planner_0235

dallas_wedding_planner_0236

These amazing details of floral added the color and texture of for the couple’s vision of bright, elegant, masculine, and organic along with the natural colored linens by BBJ Linen. They wanted their wedding day to be a complete representation of who they are by tying in their Hispanic cultures with fun textures of lotus pods, driftwood, succulents along with bright hues of reds, oranges, purples, greens and bronze-copper accents.

dallas_wedding_planner_0240

dallas_wedding_planner_0237

dallas_wedding_planner_0241

The couple tells us that a special moment of the wedding was, “Walking down the aisle hand-in-hand with Joe’s son symbolized the family we’ve become. Also, having so many people there who loved and supported us was beyond touching…”

dallas_wedding_planner_0242

dallas_wedding_planner_0243

The music never stopped from the ceremony where Simply Music played soft tunes, to the cocktail reception were festive music was being played by Ernestos Music-Mariachi Band, and to the reception where DJ Adante of Simply Music spun out some dancing tunes.

dallas_wedding_planner_0245

All-the-while enjoying all of the fun guests’ also enjoyed amazing food and cocktails by Gil’s Catering.

dallas_wedding_planner_0246

No wedding would be complete without cake! The couple chose a simple, yet amazing cake by Delicious Cakes! To keep with the organic and masculine feel of their wedding, the cake was displayed on a wood slate and adorned with succulents.

dallas_wedding_planner_0247

Jeff and Joe both agree that their favorite moment of their wedding was that there was no rain! “Since we planned an outdoor ceremony and reception, we were quite nervous about the rain in the forecast. There was not a single raindrop, so we were able to celebrate as we had planned all along.”

dallas_wedding_planner_0248

In preparation for the rain the couple had to make a split decision on implementing a tent. To keep the outdoor feel they chose a clear tent without sides by Ducky Bob’s. We are so glad that Shannon Skloss Photography was there to catch all the amazing details for lasting memories and great stories later on. Shannon even notes that the clear tent reflected a lot of light from the lights that were strung by Simply Music which made for amazing photos.

dallas_wedding_planner_0249

Jeff and Joe say there favorite part about being married so far is, “The security of knowing that we’ll have someone with whom to share our lives and grow old.”

Summer Wedding at Hickory Street Annex

Jourdin & Chris’ summer wedding at Hickory Street Annex in Dallas, TX was one of so much happiness and love!  The journey to this amazing day began 4.5 years prior when the two met in class at Coppell High School.  Despite living long distance during majority of their relationship, they grew together in love.  Chris proposed on a hot summer day in the Katy Trail.  He then whisked his soon-to-be-bride off to a surprise engagement party where their family and friends eagerly awaited to celebrate their big news.

From the beginning wedding planning stages, Jourdin knew that she wanted keep things light by going with a gold and white color palette with touches of glam.  Keeping things pretty simple, everything took place at Hickory Street Annex.  The girls spent the day there leisurely getting ready with Maitee Miles doing their makeup and Abby Kugestadt doing their hair.  Her bridesmaids wore a variety of gold dresses.  Jourdin wore a Nicole Miller dress from Nordstom.  They all looked stunning!  The guys arrived later that afternoon and got dressed in a nearby office so they could just walk right over once it was time for pictures to begin.

Soon it was time for the couple’s first look.  Which proved to be Jourdin’s favorite part of the day as she says, “I’d been kind of nervous at the looming duty the bride has of being the center of attention, and I hadn’t seen him all day and was just antsy.  So the first look really put my nerves at ease.  Plus, it was so exciting to finally see him all dressed up!”

The wedding party had a blast taking pictures with Jennefer Wilson Photography and were soon able to relax and take in the beautiful wedding decor for a bit before the ceremony began.  During the wedding ceremony, sister and Matron of Honor, Kelsey, Best Man & best friend, Jesse, & awesome friend of the couple, Jordan, performed a beautiful song, “Forever Like That, Ben Rector“, to capture the couple’s feelings for one another.  Chris sealed the deal with kissing his bride and they became Mr. & Mrs. Chris Hendrix!

As guests moved downstairs for the cocktail reception, the ceremony was transformed into the par-taay area!  The ceremony backdrop created by Branching Out, was re-purposed for the cake back drop.  Cakes were made by Delicious Cakes and the pocket pies were made by Zenzero Bakery.

dallas_wedding_planner_0119

Guests were then transitioned back up stairs where they feasted their eyes on all the pretties made by Branch Out Floral and Event Design.  Jourdin wanted to contribute some decor herself, so she saved and painted all the gold bottles that held the florals.

After the first dance, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner by CN Catering and listened to entertaining toasts given by the couple’s closest family and friends.

Even though the wedding took place on a Sunday evening, you would never know it by the way everyone danced the night away with DJ Dilly mixing the beats.  It really was a fantastic time had by all!  DWeddings even got in on the action!  We were so honored to have been apart of the second McMinn family wedding.  Congratulations McMinn/Hendrix families!  You truly hold a special place in our hearts.

Winter Wedding NYLO Hotel Las Colinas

Irene and Calvin met when Irene was on an overseas assignment to work with a global team based in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Calvin happened to be on his annual leave for work and stayed with his parents in Bentonville as well.  One night when Irene was on her way to a friend’s party, she got lost and Calvin was sent out to help her find her way.

Three years later, on Valentines Day in 2012, Calvin proposed to Irene at sunset in Austin, Texas.  He gave her a cute coin purse as a Valentine’s Day gift to her, and inside was the ring!  Of course, she said yes.

WeddingSamplePhotos (30 of 30)

The sweet couple’s winter wedding took place at the modern boutique NYLO Hotel Las Colinas on November 2, 2013.  The look and feel of this hotel is perfect for any couple who are looking for a modern yet sophisticated venue on their special day.

A beautiful, traditional tea ceremony with their immediate families, kicked off the big day.  The wedding ceremony was set up outside of the NYLO Hotel Las Colinas on their pool deck which was later transformed into a cocktail and dance floor area.

At the entrance of the ceremony, Irene and Calvin had a cute custom wedding canvas for guests’ to stamp their thumb print and sign, acting as a guestbook!

After the ceremony, guests’ were treated to a fun cocktail hour before the reception began while the bridal party took some photos.  The guests were refreshed with fresh lemon water, wine, and champagne. They were also presented with an assortment of yummy hors d’oeuvres, which consisted of fire shrimp rolls, vegetable spring rolls, and crab cakes!

When it was time for the reception to begin, guests’ were surprised by a video the couple and wedding party put together with their rendition of Gangnam Style by PSY.  It really got the crowd laughing & having a great time.  This bunch was so fun!  I mean look at these guys!

WeddingPhotos459

Irene and Calvin’s winter wedding consisted of a soft clean pink, blue and white palette mixed in with fun elements that represented the couple perfectly.  The gorgeous floral along with the captivating lighting done by Magic Moments Parties & Events really tied everything together so beautifully.

The ever-talented Delicious Cakes did an amazing job making the cupcakes.  That incredible cake topper you see?  Calvin’s cousin, Steve Lee, actually created it for their special day!  Having cupcakes as an alternative to a full cake makes the distribution of the wedding cake for guests, effortless; not to mention, look how gorgeous those cupcake liners are with the pretty cupcake designs!

Finally when it came time for the newlyweds to leave, they were sent off with a trail of sparklers held by all of their loved ones. What better way to end such a magical night!

“I have to say every moment of the day was my favorite. From the preparation, to the ring exchange, to the departure, they are all unforgettable,” Irene said as she talked about her favorite moment of their wedding day.

Summer Wedding at Omni Park West

We had the opportunity to work with Brea & Crystal for their modern red and white summer wedding this June at the Omni Park West in Dallas.  After dating for five years, Brea and Crystal were so excited to tie the knot, and Crystal says that she feels “truly blessed to be marrying my best friend and the woman of my dreams.”

 IMG_1818

The ceremony was very personal with a beautiful white and red backdrop, and included a sand ceremony with their daughter Kaila. The three of them exchanged vows, and Kaila was presented with a special token from Brea and Crystal during the ceremony.

IMG_1999

The Texas sunshine provided us with some beautiful summer weather, and the beauty of their wedding was further enhanced by their flowers from Magic Moments.

IMG_1929

As well as being absolutely scrumptious, the cake from Delicious Cakes provided an elegant backdrop for the event.

IMG_2285

Although all of the aesthetic touches were lovely, Brea and Crystal told us about what truly made their day so special for them:

“What made our wedding day special was seeing our friends and family there genuinely happy and ready to celebrate us as we embark on a new journey.”

 IMG_2432

Guests danced the night away to music from Entertainment Solutions, LLC, starting with Brea & Crystal’s beautiful first dance together as a married couple. Of course, their first dance included their daughter Kaila.

 IMG_2187

While it might seem that planning a wedding can be stressful, Crystal’s piece of advice to other brides is “I would definitely not stress as much over some things.  Besides that, there is nothing else that I would change about my wedding day…it was perfect!”

Tracy Nanthavongsa snapped these gorgeous photos we are sharing with you.  All in all, it was an amazing day.  Congratulations Brea & Crystal!

Dallas Graduation Party

With their daughter leaving soon to go to college at the University of Chicago, Sneha’s parents knew they had to give her a graduation party she’d never forget.

chebrolugradparty-1145

The celebration took place at her family’s beautiful home in Highland Village, overlooking Lake Lewisville. Talk about a beautiful sunset!

chebrolugradparty-1022

With traditional Indian food from Our Place alongside delicious American cuisine from Tastefully Yours (sliders and bruschetta, anyone?), to a cake from Delicious Cakes shaped like books, and a bubble tea bar from Fruitealicious, all of the food was one of the many things at this event that set it apart from your ordinary graduation party. For dessert, Dippin Dots was also brought in to compliment the delicious cake. This party was the absolute place to be for any foodie who loves fun food.

Guests enjoyed their dinner to music from DJ Brad with ES Events, as the sun was setting over Lake Lewisville.

chebrolugradparty-1049

After dinner, the party got started under the stars with sparklers and glow sticks of every kind, even sunglasses made out of glow sticks!

chebrolugradparty-1178

chebrolugradparty-1242

chebrolugradparty-1219

While photo booths are still pretty popular right now, they decided to take things up a notch and have a photo lounge instead, complete with comfy chairs and tons of accessories. All of Sneha’s classmates, family, and friends enjoyed dressing up and having their pictures taken throughout the night at the photo lounge by Harry Photo.

chebrolugradparty-1085

This party was one to remember, and the blending of cultures also added a very unique spin. Although Sneha is traveling all the way to Chicago for college, it’s clear to see that she will never forget her roots – or this wonderful night! We had so much fun planning it alongside Sneha and her parents. We wish you all the best of luck in college, Sneha. Study hard!
