Fairytale Wedding at The Omni Dallas Hotel

Staci and David met on New Year’s Day 2016, a year after their best friends had first started trying to set them up. David came into town for the Michigan State game at the Cotton Bowl and bribed a friend for the chance to meet Staci. They dated for almost two years before he proposed on a weekend getaway at his favorite beach in Indian Shores, Florida.

The couple started planning their dream wedding at the Omni Dallas. Staci knew she wanted bright and vibrant shades of purple and pink, with a classic fairytale theme, and Freesia was more than happy to oblige! She says, “I wanted the flowers to be a focal point, and Lauren put that vision to life perfectly and it all made me feel like a princess.” Linens by BBJ Linen provided the perfect backdrop for the bright florals. With dramatic arrangements on every table, and a breathtaking chuppah from Father of the Bride exquisitely covered in vivid violet hydrangeas, fuschia calla lilies, stunning vanda orchids, and the brightest pink roses, the ceremony and reception were a fairytale fantasy.

Staci wore a stunning lace gown by Justin Alexander from Lasting Bridal, and her bridesmaids wore radiant orchid dresses by Dessy, from Nordstrom. Staci looked every bit the princess, with hair and makeup by TC Makeup. Capturing the day on camera was Shannon Skloss, and videographers from Thompson Pictures. Carlson Craft created the elegant invitations for the wedding weekend’s festivities.

One of Staci’s favorite memories of the wedding was the First Look with her father and with David. “I knew my dad had waited his whole life for that moment, and it was so special for it happen so perfectly.”

Staci made her way down the aisle accompanied by her parents. “Even with 270 people, it felt like David and I were the only ones in the room.”

Once it was time for the reception, In10City Band played all of Staci and David’s favorites, and kept the crowd dancing. Staci says “I don’t think I even left the dance floor until Steel City Pops arrived.” The couples stunning cake was created by Lo at Sweet Thangs. Looking back, Staci only wishes she had more time to experience the night. “It flew by like everyone said it would!”

Staci and David departed the wedding in a picture perfect sea of bubbles, ending a night that was a dream come true.

It was an honor to be part of this sweet couple’s special day. We wish all the blessings life has to offer. Mazel tov to Staci and David!

Lush Garden Wedding at Omni Dallas

Sarah and Ethan met through mutual friends during their junior year of college while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia. The two quickly became friends and stayed friends for a couple years before officially dating. After dating for two and a half years, Ethan popped the question! Ethan set up such a beautiful and personal proposal. Sarah goes on to tell us, “He set up pictures of us in a heart shape on our living room floor with a scrapbook set in the center filled with more pictures of us. The last page of the scrapbook said, “Will You Marry Me?”, to which Sarah said YES!” Afterward, the two went to their favorite restaurant for dinner where both of their families were waiting to surprise Sarah with well wishes. Ethan also had friends waiting for the two at a nearby bar to surprise Sarah and continue the celebration. From there the planning process began. Sarah did not start off with having a theme for her wedding but, with our suggestion she started using Pinterest and pinning anything she liked. After a few pins, Sarah realized that she loved greenery, clean lines, various metals, and neutral colors. From there her inspiration morphed into a theme of natural elegance. After narrowing down likes, dislikes, and the color palette the happy couple were ready to invite their friends and family to their wedding. Stamped Paper Co. did an amazing job with the invitation suites that matched the couples vision so perfectly! Guests’ gathered at Congregation Sherith Israel to witness Sarah and Ethan join as one. Sarah made her way down the aisle to the soft sounds of Dallas String Quartet in the background. She looked absolutely stunning in a gorgeous gown designed by Augusta Jones, from Stardust Celebrations and custom hand-made bolero by Rylee Calvert of Altered for the Altar. Any beautiful bride would not be complete without hair and make-up; Erin Blair did a beautiful job of enhancing Sarah’s natural beauty for her special day. After witnessing a beautiful ceremony guests were chauffeured by Executive Car Services to The Omni Hotel Dallas for a night of great food and celebration. Emerald City Band kept the party going all night long with upbeat tunes for guests to dance the night away a top of the white and gold trimmed dance floor by DFW Dance Floors. Our sister company, Freesia did an amazing job at pulling together Sarah and Ethan’s vision for a lush garden wedding! Freesia used a soft floral color palette of white, blush and touches of lavender using a mix of large open blooms and a few delicate beauties. They also used an array of mixed metal votives and floating candles for a soft glow. The centerpieces looked gorgeous placed a top of fine linens by La Tavola. One of our favorite pieces from Freesia was the grand escort wall display with acrylic hexagon tags made by Artifacture with calligraphy by Jourdin Hendrix Calligraphy. Another favorite was the floral arch that framed the cakes so beautifully. Speaking of cake, these yummy beauties were designed by Panini Bakery.Beyond lit the room with amazing up-lighting and pin spots to highlight focal points throughout the reception. The lush look and experience would not have been complete without the help of a few rentals of cocktail reception bars and chairs from Bella Acento along with soft pillows, band backdrop, and reception bars from Fauxcades. The fabulous Shannon Skloss Photography always makes time stand still capturing intimate moments and amazing details. Thompson Pictures filmed the entire day for lasting memories that the happy couple will get to relive forever.

“My favorite moment of our wedding was our first look. Being able to spend time together alone before the ceremony was really special.” says Sarah. When looking back on their wedding, we asked, “What would you do differently about your wedding if you had to do it all over again?” Sarah said that she wouldn’t change a thing but, would absolutely still hire a wedding planner! “I was able to know that I had a plan B if it rained. She kept me calm and organized throughout the process and the entire day of…having a planner kept me from stressing and allowed me to really soak in the day.” We wish these lovebirds the best as they venture into life together as one.

Shalom!

CTE Loves Thompson Pictures

“In high school, I was one of the coolest kids around, and was part of an exclusive group called media tech. There were two types of people in there, the kids that just wanted an easy class, and the other ones that enjoyed making things, creating short films, etc. Fortunately, I connected most with the people that liked making stuff and the rest is history”Being from Texas, Trey decided to go to UT Arlington for school. When he was deciding his major, he had already been working in film production for several years so you would think that would be easy to continue. To challenge himself further, he decided to go into advertising with a minor in business.

Trey has not always been a videographer but he has always been interested in video production throughout his life, which made him choose a career in videography. The “aha” moment of becoming a videographer was more of a process found while working in the industry. “I’ve always enjoyed making things, being creative and problem solving. Working in video production uses all those areas, so it was a natural progression for me.”

Thompson Pictures is a company with bright, cinematic, smooth work. While capturing weddings, they think about how to be creative which can be difficult when not having the ability to direct your shots. “The cool thing about capturing weddings is there’s no second takes, so it’s just that much more rewarding when everything lines up to be an awesome moment.”

Trey’s favorite thing about videography is the moment that everything comes together as a finished product. Being able to show someone one of the most memorable days of their lives is something that Thompson Pictures strives to be the best at.

Videography is such an important part of a wedding because it captures everything a bride and groom may have missed. Trey’s advice to a bride and groom is to hire a videographer “More than 90% of brides who didn’t hire a videographer regretted it and it was their number one regret.” He also said that finding a videographer who works well with the photographer, so they are not competing with each other for a shot, is crucial. Also, make sure that your videographer has a good backup system, “Our philosophy at Thompson Pictures is multiple copies, versions and locations.”

The most challenging aspect to deal with as a videographer is that most of the day is out of their control. They need to be able to “adapt and preform under strict timelines and circumstances.” Trey says Thompson Pictures is not really work for him because “Enjoying what you do, doesn’t feel like work at all.” Getting positive feedback from clients’ or moving a client to tears when they see their wedding on the screen, is what makes everything worth it.

Thompson Pictures is a growing business that continues to train and invest in their team to deliver the highest quality films to their clients.

It’s always a pleasure working with the Thompson Pictures team. From the booking process to the delivery of their feature film, we know our clients are in good hands when choosing them as a videographer. Thank you for all you do Thompson Pictures!

After locking eyes at a college function for an on campus organization at Texas A & M where both Ashlynn & Colton attended; they decided to officially meet a few months later. The two began dating and fell in love!

Finally on April 18, 2015 under the Famous Century Tree at Texas A & M Colton asked Ashlynn to be his wife! The proposal was everything she ever imagined.

dallas_wedding_planner_0198

Keeping the proposal a surprise was a challenge. Colton had to throw Ashlynn off of his trail of planning her dream proposal by telling her that her vision was cliché! All the while Colton was putting together plans for family and friends to be present as well as a photographer to capture such a special moment.

From there on these lovebirds were planning maroon & gold wedding! Adding a few blush tones helped to add a little contrast to their color pallet. Ashlynn loves glitter & gold as any girl would. And maroon is a favorite for both Ashlynn & Colton as it is part of their alma mater’s colors! They wanted the feel of their wedding to be romantic, full of light, and sparkle.

Ashlynn & Colton’s wedding invitations were recreated from a look Ashlynn had seen on Pinterest. Her vision was brought to life by Vista Print & Ann’s Bridal Bargains.

The sweet couple exchanged vows in the chapel at Ashton Gardens-Dallas which created the perfect setting; the large windows in this space really helped reflect the light. The two were framed by a custom twinkling curly willow arch made by our sister company Freesia; who were also in charge of all of the floral and candles that extended the feeling of romance for these two on their wedding day. Ashlynn even gave us kudos, “Lauren did the most amazing job bringing our vision of sparkly and romantic to life.”

Thompson Pictures was there to videograph the couple as they exchanged their sweet vows of love that they wrote to each other. Ashlynn informs us this moment was her favorite of the entire evening. “I think they reflected our personalities perfectly and showed the kind of love we have for each other. I still tear up watching the video of them!” she tells us.

The reception couldn’t have been complete without the awesome tunes & lighting from Simply Music and cake from Delicious Cakes.

These two agree that their wedding wouldn’t have been anything they imagined if it wasn’t for their family, friends, and all of their loved ones. Seeing all of the people they loved gathered together to celebrate their love was simply amazing. Ashlynn’s brother married them, and her grandfather led them in communion. Colton’s family hadn’t seen each other in years, and they flew from all over to be with them.

“Seeing both of our families and everyone we love all in one place was incredibly humbling and emotional. That happens so rarely, and we were both so thankful to have all of that support“, says Ashlynn.

Since coming together as husband and wife and settling into their jobs; Colton a Human Resource Specialist & Ashlynn an ABA Program Manager & Behavior Therapist; their favorite part about being married is the commitment they made to each other and always being with their best friend!

dallas_wedding_planner_0216

While the couple admits they wouldn’t change much about their wedding day; Ashlynn does inform us that, “Throughout the planning process, I wish I would have not worried so much about pleasing everyone. Weddings are so full of traditions and expectation, and it’s really impossible to make everyone happy. Decide what you and your partner’s dreams are about your day and do your best.”

What great advice, Ashlynn! We hope you & Colton are doing your best being so happy together.
